A home at 256 E. Main St. in Norwalk suffered major damages Sunday night when a fire started near the rear of the house and moved to the rest of the structure.

The owner of the house said his neighbor smelled smoke and let them know.

He said it appeared to be a small fire on the back porch and when he opened the door to put it out, the flames took off. Firemen were at the scene throughout the evening.

Another house! Wow the fire department has made their money. Sorry to hear it. My sympathy goes to the family. Hope they were insured.

I find it interesting there are firefighters without proper PPE on working at this fire! HUGE LIABILITY!!! And Norwalk wonder why people will not support a new Fire Station! People with no helmet, breathing apparatus in the vicinity of the fire.
