HIGHWAY PATROL Joshua R. Williams, 25, of 104 E. Ashtabula St., North Fairfield, attempted to pass the tractor-trailer driven by Ralph D. Leighty, 64, of Augusta, Ill., Feb. 26 while heading west on U.S. 20. About the same time, Leighty began to pass the tractor-trailer driven by Gregory T. Graham, 47, of Murphy, N.C. Williams went off the left side, hit a sign post, came back onto U.S. 20 and hit the left side of Graham's truck. No citations were issued and there were no injuries.

About the same time, Leighty began to pass the tractor-trailer driven by Gregory T. Graham, 47, of Murphy, N.C. Williams went off the left side, hit a sign post, came back onto U.S. 20 and hit the left side of Graham's truck. No citations were issued and there were no injuries.

Scott A. Haynes, 16, of 3130 Ohio 18, was charged with failure to yield the right of way while turning left in the Feb. 27 collision with the vehicle driven by Diane S. Lee, 50, of 46 Stony Brook Lane, Wakeman, on U.S. 20.

Perry E. Murr, 55, of 2407 Jennings Road, New London, was charged with failure to control Feb. 27 after he went off the right side of Jennings Road and hit a mailbox and several trash cans. He re-entered the road, again went off the right side and hit a tree stump and guide wire.

NORWALK POLICE

An employee of a Milan Avenue business reported damage to a rental car Saturday.

A Baker Street resident reported the theft of his 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass, but he later found it in Key Estates with the keys missing Tuesday.

A Whittlesey Avenue resident reported the theft of his digital bass restoration amplifier from the trunk of his locked car Tuesday as well as an in-dash DVD player.

Gregory M. Mathers, 46, of 8 1/2 Cline St., was arrested on three warrants Tuesday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. He is serving a 20-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Cleveland Road resident reported telephone harassment Tuesday.

Arrested a 13-year-old Jefferson Street boy and charged him with domestic violence Tuesday.

Phillip Daniels, 54, of 43 Fruen St., was charged with domestic violence Tuesday.

A Walnut Street resident reported her front door was kicked in during a suspected burglary Tuesday.

James L. Root, 36, of 23 Newton St., Apt. B7, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct today. He was held at the city jail until sober.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Was advised of open doors in the west building of a Fitchville River Road, Wakeman, business Tuesday.

Residents on Niver Road, Willard, and U.S. 250, New London, reported domestic incidents Tuesday.

Initiated a traffic stop Tuesday at the intersection of Ohio 4 and Ohio 547.

An Old State Road resident reported someone shot a hole through the window of a parked van Tuesday.

The Lorain County Jail reported being ready to release James E. Mosley Jr., 30, of Vermilion, from custody Tuesday. He was arrested on a local warrant and charged with failure to appear on the original charge of driving without a license. Mosley currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An area resident reported a break-in at her empty mobile home Tuesday on East U.S. 20, Wakeman.

A Gibbs Road resident reported a stalking incident Tuesday.

An employee of a West U.S. 224, New Haven, business reported a private property accident Tuesday.
