Since March of last year, Hidden Creek Pottery has been host to a collection of art and pottery from Christie Lane's Artists' Open Studio. We have watched as these artists become aware of how their talents are touching others. I enjoy the stories behind how the pieces were formed using unusual techniques and innovative designs unique to the artist creating them.
We are happy to be part of a great idea that enables the people of AOS to share their talents and abilities with our community. These artistic gifts might have been lost or gone unnoticed if not for the sensitivity and spirit of teachers like Lynda Stoneham and Bill Young. Their ideas and determination inspire and encourage, not only the students of AOS but many others by showing us what is possible, what is within our reach, how far that reach extends and what we can touch if we reach farther.
To host the pottery and art of AOS at Hidden Creek Pottery has been a pleasure. To watch the excitement in the faces of the artists as they recognize their art after it is framed, priced, displayed and sold, has been pure joy. The art of AOS conveys a vital energy expressing basic concepts and emotions that touch the psyche of all those who experience it.
