It was September 1977 and Norwalk's Jim Ramsey, Sr. was flat on his back in Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He had just had his first open heart surgery.
That very week, the University of Oklahoma was coming to town to play Ohio State in one of the biggest football games of the decade. Jim Ramsey was a big Ohio State fan, but he really had bigger things on his mind. He just wanted to get well.
