The state Highway Patrol suspects possible drug use or a meone-vehicle accident with injuries over the weekend.

Lisa C. Elmer, 44, of Marion, sustained minor injuries due to the one-vehicle accident, according to the report by Sgt. Jason Demuth. A Mobile LifeFlight helicopter transported her to Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. A hospital spokeswoman said Elmer was treated and later released.

Elmer, who was wearing her seat belt, was southwest on Ohio 4 when she went off the left side, hit a mailbox and went into a ditch, Demuth said. The Sherman Township crash happened at 5:27 a.m. Saturday.

Whites Automotive Services towed the 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser from the scene with functional damage.

The lab results of a blood test are pending.

No citations have been issued in the ongoing investigation.

It happened early in the morning. Maybe she fell asleep?

Minor injuries, treated and released. Yet, who made the call and/or decision for LifeFlight? Wow.

They call lifeflight for everything these days. I want to know who pays for it. Lord knows insurance companies do not want to pay for the ER let alone a trip in a helicopter too. And if you are treated and RELEASED!!!! I am sure that is one helluva fight with them.

YOU pay for it! And it is $60,000 one way! Not covered by insurance or medicare, Best you can hope for is someone else hit you and you can sue their car insurance.

Unless they don't have car insurance, then you still pay for it. Had a friend recently got hit on a motorcycle. Other driver was cited. No insurance. And He had a good job with benefits.... Do you know your medical insurance through you work does NOT cover medical treatment for the injuries sustained in a car accident.... they wanna fight it out with the auto insurance... This is what insurance has come down too. Total bills $700,000!

It's $6,000. You put 1 too many zeroes in.

Oh well....the charges will never be as much as White's bill. When he gets done with the tow bill, she would be better off buying a helicopter to go to work.
