Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash this morning

As he was leaving work, man rapidly accelerated the motorcycle, causing him to lose control, troopers say.

The Sandusky post of state Highway is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred at 5:53 a.m. today at SealMaster Pavement Products and Equipment, located at 2520 Campbell St., Sandusky.

William D. Gahimer, 34, of Vickery, was leaving work at SealMaster Pavement Products and Equipment on a 1998 Suzuki Dyno Jet motorcycle when he rapidly accelerated the motorcycle, causing him to lose control, troopers said. The motorcycle overturned and ejected Gahimer onto the pavement.

Gahimer, who was not wearing a protective helmet, suffered serious injuries, troopers said. He was transported to the Firelands Regional Medical Center by Perkins Township Fire and EMS.

The crash remains under investigation.
