Imagine something different

Event Friday night in Norwalk.

Uptown Norwalk might look a little bit different Friday.

From 4 p.m. until after midnight, local imaginations will take center stage.

“Imagine Norwalk isn’t an event, it’s a mindset,” said Chris Castle, owner of Dirtsandwich Music Company.

“It’s a historic downtown district, alive and rich with art and community,” he added.

“The idea is basically that we’ll all wake up tomorrow and walk out the door into the world,” Castle said. “What kind of world that is depends entirely on us.”

Castle said Norwalk’s citizens can make this city whatever they dream it to be.

“We make music and art and as artists we imagine Norwalk as an oasis for that,” he said. “A place where people can express themselves through music, painting or any  other medium.”

Castle said Imagine Norwalk is an open-ended idea.

A number of “happenings” will take place Friday as part of Imagine Norwalk.

See Wednesday's Norwalk Reflector for complete story.

Brownies? Didn't the hippies drop the ball 40 years ago?

How can you say the hippies dropped the ball? I would say the hippies had more thought and love, etc than most. You must be one of the closed minded old people that didn't believe in Woodstock or the greatness of art and music. We may be "far out" but we also have given you more cures from ailments than you can imagine. So self sided. We are now the scientists that made your bomb..remember that!!

Ohhboy12 could have used some time in Oberlin. Maybe he would have learned how to spell and argue. Regardless of baseless personal attacks on the organizers, this is a great event for the community. I think it would be best to keep personal fantasies of conspiracy and illegal activity to a minimum. Thanks to everyone who is working to instill a bit of culture and pride into the city of Norwalk.
