It's nice to get a little appreciation every now and then. Town and Country retail manager Lynn Brenner realizes this and wanted to show her appreciation for her "current customers, and also our future customers."

The five-year-old business located on Old State Road held a customer appreciation day last weekend as part of their Purina Check-R-Board Days sale.

"We appreciate all of our customers," Brenner said. "And we wanted to express our appreciation for them and let our future customers know that we're here. It's community outreach."

To express their appreciation, Town and Country offered free hot dogs, burgers, chips, soda and water, as well as some fun activities for children, including a petting zoo, pony rides and face painting. This year marked the fifth annual customer appreciation day and Brenner said they will "definitely" hold it again next year.
