The Huron County drug task force recently raided a League Street residence.

"A number of drug-related items were seized," Huron County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Josh Querin said.

Those items were sent to the crime lab for testing.

"No arrests have been made," Querin said, adding five people were at the location.

"These were all felony-related drug items," he added.

The raid took place at 7:10 a.m.

Sheriff Dane Howard said Norwalk police sent an officer to a debriefing meeting before the raid.

"We want to do everything we can to strengthen the relationship between the two offices," the sheriff said.

Howard said HCSO staff will send a teletype message, followed by a telephone call to any law-enforcement agency where deputies might be entering their jurisdiction during a raid.

This is an improved version of deconfliction, the sheriff said.

Deconfliction is a process to reduce the risk of collision between two agencies.

They can't arrest anyone until the "drug related" items are tested for drug residue. Probably a bathroom scale, and a plastic sandwich baggie out of the dudes lunch box. 30% of all money....even you're money has drug residue on it....probably took their last $47 in cash & hoping for a grand slam.

This is awesome police work. Sounds like at least 4 or 5 misdemeanors will come from this one. What am I thinkin'...they'll just use the same guy to test that burned the Collins guy on Benedict last week.

"Norwalk police sent an officer to a debriefing meeting before the raid." I thought you went to a briefing before an event and a debriefing after an event.

they got the right address this time, right?

Apparently they don't arrest informants. Just had to make the home visit/tattle time good for the neighbors watching.

The guy was probably jaywalking downtown. After a severe interrogation, the guys lawyer showed up & got him off the hook with 400 hours of community service & a $1,000 fine.

Felony related items are heroin or cocaine ,good job .Now we need more in patient rehab facilities in the area to help these people struggling with addiction or the cycle will continue .

togbert71

We don't need no stinkin' rehab facilities...we need some 90% pure China White to flood the street and let them all O.D. with no NARCAN in sight. Then we don't have to worry 'bout the cycle, do we?
