Two local drivers charged with DUI

Troopers with the Norwalk post of the state Highway Patrol pulled over two local residents who are accused of drunk driving in two days.

Margaret M. Eicher, 50, of 705 Maplewood St., Willard, was stopped by Trooper Thomas Halko at 8:17 p.m. April 25 on Ohio 99 in Willard. The trooper clocked Eicher going 45 mph in a 35-mph zone.

Eicher, who reportedly refused a breath test, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding.

Norwalk resident Cale T. Mays, 28, 27 Westwind Drive, was stopped by Trooper Eddie Lopez at 12:26 a.m. Saturday. The Bronson Township traffic stop happened on Zenobia Road near Greenwich Milan Townline Road.

Mays, who was charged with DUI, had a blood-alcohol content level on a breath test of .089 percent, according to the patrol. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08 percent.

The trooper warned Mays about having an expired license plate.
