The Edison High School Interact Club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Milan, will hold a pizza send-off evening from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the high school cafeteria.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under and can be purchased in advance through Interact members or the high school office. Tickets will be available at the door, also, beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Varieties of soda or water will be available, along with all the pizza you care to eat from four different vendors for your $10 ticket.

Proceeds from this event will go toward the cost of sending the statue of Thomas Edison to Washington, D.C., along with a portion going toward the reconstruction of Jim's Pizza Box.

The Edison High School Bands will be present their annual spring concert the same evening at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets for the concert will be available at the door.

How much money does Jim's pizza box need? There has been 2 fund raisers so far and let's not forget the insurance he had on the building????

JMOP

I was confused to why there was one in the first place. My only thought was that the community wanted to show him support. He is a likable guy.
Doesn't he have the pizza place in Huron still?

OMGNEWS

I am sure the ex wife got the Huron location in the divorce,

CAST THE FIRST STONE

no they each own 50-50 each place

Dr. Information

The guy is helping out the schools, why is that an issue.

JMOP

I know Jim has. I don't have an issue, I was just curious to why a fundraiser is needed for Jim. What does the money go towards?

truckin

AMAZING!
The cost is for covering sending statue to DC?
That is a set price i am sure..
When they petitioned for Edison in DC... surely sending cost was of no concern.. why now?? or that's right!!!
someone on the city board could use some cash..why not call it for a double whammy!
With so many Edison bleeding heart follower's in this town, I am most certain the cost of sending is NOT an issue.

If you don't want to go DON'T!!! No one is demanding you do anything! and OMGrumormill...I just ate at the Huron location and Jim was behind the counter busting his A$$ as usual!

Kobayashi Maru

I hope the fundraiser is a success!

I just want to know where is all the fund money going????

Jim and his ex wife both own 50 percent of each pizza place 1/2 huron 1/2 milan. Jim is still making money and got a lucky break with the fire. the building he was in was way in need of upgrades and now he gets them for free. he lives in a 400,000 dollar house and people are giving him money. I hope he donates all to the edison part of the fundraiser. He is a nice guy but does not need any money. he still gets a paycheck every week and alot of people are going to huron to still spend money. huron is better anyway.

I have a few questions:
-Which Vendors are providing Pizza?
-What is the Interact Club?
-Wouldn't Insurance cover Jim's Reconstruction Costs?
-If we attend this fundraiser-are we going to be subjected to the Idiot with the Mohawk yet again?

sorryhog

If he didn't have insurance, too bad. Why should people give them money?

ashamed

So many cynics. It has been stated (on the posters from the previous fundraiser) that the money raised was to help the employees who have lost income, the residents of the apartments who lost their homes, and Berlin-Milan youth sports. Jim isn't keeping the money for himself, he is using the money to take care of the people affected and an organization he's been a long-time supporter of. He hasn't asked for these fundraisers to be held in the first place, other people have organized them. I think he is doing the right thing by accepting the support of the community, but not keeping the money for himself.

JMOP

Thank you for answering. I knew he wasn't holding the fundraiser, but I missed the previous stories about it and was only curious as to why.

If this is true, and I hope it is, the story was very poorly written and misleading. It's says a portion of the proceeds are specifically going to the reconstruction of Jim's Pizza Box.
