A Willard man is accused of assaulting his older brother in connection with an alcohol-related argument.

Marcus A. Thornsberry, 22, of 124 Dale St., Apt. 1, is charged with felonious assault, which is punishable by two to eight years in prison.

"Marcus assaulted his brother (with his fists)," Willard Police Detective Jeremy Draper said. "There were no other weapons involved."

A caregiver of the brothers stopped two officers at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday about the 25-year-old victim being assaulted.

"He sustained several injuries in the face region -- some broken bones," Draper said.

The victim was treated at Willard Mercy Hospital and released. When asked if the victim will require any surgery, Draper said he expects the man will need to schedule a follow-up with his family doctor.

Police suspect alcohol was involved in the incident.

"They had been drinking. An argument ensued," Draper said.

The detective was asked if Thornsberry has a violent history.

"We've had some dealings with him in the past, but it's been alcohol-related," Draper said.

Thornsberry must post a $25,000 bond before being released from the Huron County Jail. If he post bail, he is prohibited from having any association with the victim.

I just got around to reading this article. and I do have a question it says the boys caregiver. They are 25 and 22 years old. Do they have some mental problems that requires they have a caregiver?
