It appears Edison High School will give Norwalk City Schools students a run for full bragging rights when it comes to academic challenge matches.

Norwalk's public primary and middle school students recently completed a clean sweep of their matches; fifth-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth graders won the Huron County championship for their grade level. They will compete in a tri-county match May 19.

Now, Norwalk High School's academic team will try to continue the Trucker dominance by capturing the championship of the Firelands Challenge contest.

Norwalk is facing Edison and Port Clinton in the championship rounds, the first of which took place Monday. The final score will be cumulative between the three matches. As it stands, pending appeals, Edison is ahead 53 to Norwalk's 46 and Port Clinton's 38.
