A furnace fire early Saturday caused a "little bit of soot" around the vents, but no significant damage, Ruggles Troy Volunteer Fire Chief Mike Reisinger said.

The fire, at 1578 Township Road 126, Greenwich, was reported at 12:47 a.m. Saturday. It was out by the time firefighters arrived. Nobody was injured or displaced. However, the fire left a "little bit of soot" around the vents, Reisinger said.

The chief said the home is in Ashland County, but has a Greenwich address and borders Greenwich, New London and Ruggles.

The New London Volunteer Fire Department sent a tanker, as did the Savannah department. Reisinger said he sent seven firefighters and they were on scene for about two hours to ensure everything was OK.

Reisinger declined to provide a monetary estimate of damage.

Any report coming about the murder/suicide or double suicide, that happened out on new state rd this morning?

NotAboutMe

That is a very sad one. I am sure it will take a bit of time to sort it out. In the meantime, pray for the daughter and her family.
