Two defendants who were indicted secretly on separate charges have to post $5,000 bonds before being released from the Huron County Jail.
David S. Douglas Jr., 22, most recently of Cleveland, was indicted Oct. 11 on one credit card-related count of receiving stolen property. The Norwalk Police Department handled the investigation. His Huron County Common Pleas Court trial date is March 25.
Police arrested Thomas E. Reynolds II, 32, of Clarksville, Tenn., at 2:11 p.m. Saturday. He was charged with one count of trafficking in heroin. A Huron County grand jury secretly indicted him Aug. 23. Grand jurors issue secret indictments when authorities suspect the defendants might flee the area.
Reynolds, whose $5,000 bond has a 10-percent provision, has a trial date of May 13. He is subject to random drug screens.
Each defendant entered "not guilty" pleas to their charges Monday.
