Authorities have released details about the crash involving a drunken-driving suspect also charged with drug crimes.

Jonathan M. Young, 29, of 11 Fruen St., faces multiple charges in connection with a Fitchville Township accident at 3:40 a.m. Saturday. Trooper Bill Howard, of the state Highway Patrol, discovered the 2008 Chevrolet HHR on the side of Prospect Road near U.S. 250 while on patrol.

Before the crash, Young was southeast on U.S. 250. The trooper reported Young attempted to turn left onto Prospect Road when he hit a sign. The sport utility vehicle stopped on the right side of Prospect.

Jensen Towing towed the Chevrolet HHR from the crash site with minor damage to the right front.

Young, who wasn't injured, was issued a summons and charged with driving under the influence, failure to control, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Howard, according to his report, found suspected marijuana cigarettes, some rolling papers and a marijuana pipe with possible residue during a search related to his crash investigation.

The Huron County Public Defender's Office is representing Young, who has a pre-trial hearing scheduled for Feb. 25.

Young's blood alcohol content level tested at .150, according to Norwalk Municipal Court and patrol records. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08.

The defendant has a prior DUI conviction from 2013, according to the patrol.
