Officials with the 6th District Court of Appeals in Toledo have been made aware that “Pretrial Notice” malware emails are circulating which are purporting to be from the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals secretary.

The notice advises email recipients that their “complaint” has been received and to use the attached “link” to check the complaint.

Please be advised, the emails are not official court messages and clicking on the “link” will make your computer malware susceptible.

If you receive one of these emails, do not open any attachments or click any links that it may contain.

The court’s IT department has been made aware of this situation, and no further information is available at this time. Updates in this matter can be found on the court’s website under announcements.

If courts or anybody else wants to get ahold of me. They can send a CERTIFIED, hard copy, letter the old school way.
