Howard schedules fundraisers

Detective Sgt. Dane Howard has announced two events to support his bid to be elected Huron County sheriff in November. Howard will be at Sheri's Coffee House from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 to meet people and discuss his candidacy. The public is invited to stop in and enjoy refreshments.

Detective Sgt. Dane Howard has announced two events to support his bid to be elected Huron County sheriff in November.

Howard will be at Sheri's Coffee House from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7 to meet people and discuss his candidacy. The public is invited to stop in and enjoy refreshments.

His campaign also is holding a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 23 at the Willard American Legion, Ohio 99, Willard. Cost for the fundraiser is $7 per person and children can eat free.

Howard has worked in law enforcement for 22 years. From 1984 to 1995, he worked for the Plymouth, Greenwich and New London police departments. He was hired as a Huron County deputy sheriff in 1995.
