The village could still secure state funding for the second phase of the North Street project.
Monroeville Village Administrator Michael Goodwin said Ohio Public Works Commission representatives told him they left over money from the first round of funding.
Goodwin said the village would request $78,000 in funding and $116,000 in a zero-interest loan.
"We have a a chance to get that project funded after all," he said.
The project would require about $3,800 out of the village's general fund.
