An area man was killed and others were taken to a hospital with injuries following a two-vehicle accident on County Road 330 at Ohio 598 in Crawford County.
The preliminary investigation indicates that David B. Linden, 52, of Sandusky, was driving a Ford Escape north on Ohio 598 at 3:46 p.m. Saturday when failed to stop for oncoming traffic at the stop sign, said deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff's Office.
Linden reportedly struck a westbound GMC Seirra being driven by Paul D. Houk, 73, of Bucyrus, at the County Road 330 intersection, deputies said. The vehicles then traveled off the northwest corner of the intersection, where a power pole and stop sign were struck.
All occupants of both vehicles were transported to Galion Hospital for treatment by Lifestar, Galion Fire/EMS, and Crestline Fire/EMS. Houk later was flown from the Galion Hospital to Grant Hospital.
The Franklin County Coroner's Office reported later that afternoon that Houk had been pronounced dead at Grant Hospital, deputies said.
Linden's passengers were Michaela L. Linden, 45, of Sandusky, Taylor N Linden, 19, of Sandusky, Catherine L. Linden, 10, of Sandusky and Caroline P. Linden, 15, of Sandusky.
Houk's passengers was Madeline E. Bowen, 12, of Ontario.
A Hospital spokesperson said none of the victims were listed as patients Sunday evening.
