A 23-year-old New London man sustained injuries after he was hit by a white minivan while on his bicycle.

Chase Wilds, 23, of 20 Aster Court, was heading home from lunch on his bicycle, New London Police Sgt. Joe Hicks said.

Wilds was traveling east on Williams Street when he saw the minivan, southbound on North Maple Street. Hicks said Wilds proceeded across North Maple and the unidentified motorist struck him on the left side of his bike, ejecting him. The accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Williams and North Maple streets.

Wilds landed on his right side, suffering abrasions to his right shoulder, right forearm and right side of his forehead.

The white minivan, driven by a middle aged, heavy-set short dark-haired white female, took off heading east on East Main Street, Hicks said. She has not been located.

Wilds was taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center, where he was treated and later released.

So we know the heavy-set, short dark-haired driver was middle aged (define middle) and female, but we don't know what type of minivan it was?

There are no details of the accident. Did someone blow through a stop sign? Is there a light? If the guy on the bike had enough time to see the van and driver clear enough to give a description, why didn't he stop instead of getting hit?

JACKEL

Think of all the reasons someone would leave this accident !Drugs,no license, stolen vehicle, should not have been in this area, stupid etc.
