READERS FORUM - Weirauch represents change

Voters in the 5th Congressional District have an opportunity for change. We have been, for too long, represented by a congressman who voted 90 percent of the time to support President Bush and his wrong policies, sending our country spiraling toward recession and costing Americans jobs, homes and any kind of respect we used to enjoy in the world. This horrible war in Iraq is a totally unnecessary blunder that we will never live down, and our grandchildren will be paying off the debt. Our troops will require help in their lives for the next 65 years after they finally get back home, and the deaths in Iraq are a terrible waste of human life.

We need a representative who listens to the constituents, and votes for the good of the U.S. and its citizens, not for big business, the rich and their campaign contributors.

I believe Robin Weirauch is the right person to represent our district. She knows the issues, and cares about people — all people. She is qualified and will help take America in a positive direction. Robin supports Schip kids’ health care and ending the war. Her opponent will offer “more of the same” — he has demonstrated that, by his time in the Ohio legislature. A Taft lackey, he took money from Tom Noe. He is a “chip off the old block”; remember the old adage “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”? His father once represented this district and he was the last congressman standing up for Richard Nixon before he left office in disgrace.

If you believe, as I do, that our country is going in the wrong direction, vote for change — vote for Robin Weirauch on Dec. 11.
