GREENWICH — The South Central Junior High will again be having their annual food drive.

The Junior High Student Council, Greenwich Rotary Club and East of Chicago Pizza, Greenwich, will be sponsoring the project. Students will begin collecting canned and packaged non-perishable food items beginning Monday, Dec. 10 and ending on Friday, Dec. 14.

The number of food items collected will be determined, and the individual from each homeroom that brought in the most items will receive a gift certificate from East of Chicago Pizza. The homeroom that collects the most food items will be recognized with a pizza party.

All food items collected will be divided between the 2nd Harvest Food Bank at the Ripley Church, Greenwich, the Delphi United Methodist Church Food Cupboard and the North Fairfield Neighbor-To-Neighbor Food Pantry for distribution.

This year’s goal is to exceed 2,500 units of food. Anyone wanting to contribute can send non-perishable food items to school with a Junior High student or drop them off in the South Central Junior High office.
