MILAN - Norwalk motorist Garnett Hoag got quite a surprise when she was heading home Friday afternoon.

“A tree limb fell from the tree onto my car,” the 40-year-old woman said. “It scared the crap out of me.”

Hoag immediately pulled her Grand Marquis over to the side of Old State Road and called 9-1-1. She was heading west toward Milan at the time.

Trooper Montei Sexton of the state Highway Patrol investigated the accident.

“There were dings everywhere. It crushed the top, the windshield and the rear window,” he wrote in his report.

“It put a huge dent on my car,” Hoag added. “The ambulance (was) here. I’m fine.”

Milan Police Chief Jim Ward and Norwalk firefighters John Soisson and Curt Stang assisted with cleaning up the scene. Milan Mayor Robert Bickley, who passed by when the incident happened, also helped authorities.
