Two passengers who weren't wearing their seatbelts were ejected from a vehicle during a one-car crash this week.

North Central EMS transported Kyle M. Hewitt, 22, and Samantha N. Adcock, 26, both of 18 E. Elm St., to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with possible injuries. They were taken to the hospital after the accident at 1:40 p.m. Monday on Ridge Road.

The state Highway Patrol charged the driver, Jessica M. Friend, 21, also of 18 E. Elm St., with failure to control. Trooper Cody Nevers, in his report, said Friend was southbound on Ridge Road when she failed to negotiate a left-hand curve.

The driver went off the left side, where the vehicle hit a tree. Nevers reported Friend was wearing her seatbelt and wasn't ejected, but North Central also took her to Fisher-Titus with possible injuries.

Drugs and alcohol aren't considered factors in the crash.

I have friends that live next door to 18 E. Elm and every time I am there to see them(several times a week) the inhabitants of 18 E. Elm are on their porch in their pajamas smoking weed(I know what secondhand weed smells like). Drugs SHOULD be considered a factor!!

Do you know what secondhand weed smells like first hand?

If you are asking me if I have ever smoked weed, the answer is no. However, I have been around people who were smoking it(college, concerts, etc.) and the smell is very different from that of cigarette smoke
