Forum Thursday at BGSU Firelands

HURON The BGSU Firelands chapter of Young Democratic Socialists and the BGSU Humanities Department's American Culture Studies course series is sponsoring a free public forum, "The Widening Gap between Rich and Poor in 21st Century America: Can It Be Closed?" featuring Pamela Rosado, outreach coordinator for Policy Matters Ohio. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, in the Firelands Room (115 West Building). Policy Matters is a non-profit, non-partisan research institute focusing on the issues that matter to low-and middle-income workers in Ohio. Prior to joining Policy Matters, Rosado was secretary-treasurer and political director of the Service Employees International Union, Local 47, representing 8,000 members in Ohio. As political director, she was involved with the success of the Cleveland Living Wage campaign and in the planning stages of the Community Hiring Hall.
