State Fire Marshal’s investigators were at the address of a fire that raged at early Thursday at a Broad Street, Willard house, but authorities are releasing few details.

Willard Fire & Rescue Chief Joe Reiderman said the his department was called a little before midnight. The cause is undetermined and nobody was injured, the chief said. He added nobody was home at the time of the fire.

He was asked where in the home the fire started.

“I’m not going to get into any of that until we get the investigation complete,” he said.

He said he didn’t have an estimate of monetary damage.

When asked about a possible cause, Reiderman said “no comment....I just want to make sure we get all our ducks in a row” before commenting about details.”

Stephanie Sharlow, spokeswoman for the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office, said investigators from that office were on scene as of about 3:40 p.m. Friday. She said she didn’t have any more details.

According to a Huron County Sheriff’s Office report, the Willard Police Department requested assistance from deputies at 5:09 p.m. Thursday regarding the fire.

Above the location address on the report, the words “WFD/Arson” appear.

Trust me if Willard asked for the Sheriffs Dept. for help it was with traffic. The Bus burnt bridges with Holden years ago.

Holden has done a great job for Willard. No dope there.

I also believe Holden is a great police chief way better then Daniels ever was!!!!

You need to be drug tested

Last time the sheriff tried to investigate something in Willard (the Chinese lady found by the pond) Holden sent them on there way with there tail tucked between there legs. By the way anyone hear anything on those murrder cases the sheriffs working?

Holden is a joke people. He has no business being a Chief or even a cop.

How many of you have had a situation happen at your house were u needed police assistance ?? I have and was more than pleased with the way Holden helped along with the other officers! I had very little faith in our police department until I needed them!

The Cadillac Escalade in the picture seems a little out of place. A Luxery SUV in Dogtown???

Midnight or 5:09 pm? Seems like it was late afternoon to me when they were called out.

They responded to the fire before Midnight... and THEN.. the following day they requested assistance from the Sheriff's office. Maybe Investigators or the Fire Dept found something fishy?

That makes since! The fire dept was dispatched for a house fire around five at that address, I was not aware they were there the night before as I was out of town. Guess the investigators needed some assistance!
