WILLARD The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will repave the portion of U.S. 224 in the city limits within the next 18 months or so.

City Manager Brian Humphress told council ODOT plans to repave the portion of the roadway between Austin Drive and Pamida and between Neal Zick Road and the city boundaries.

Humphress said there is no cost estimate at this point. He did say the city will be responsible for 20 percent of the costs, including ODOT's construction inspection costs. The city would also be responsible for 100 percent of the price of any work city officials request that ODOT feels is unnecessary.

Willard City Council unanimously passed an ordinance Monday authorizing ODOT to perform the work.
