JoAnn Jones

Family: Husband, Paul; three married daughters and sons-in-law; six grandchildren (five in college)

Address: 109 Leonard St., Willard

Occupation: Retired city clerk

Education: High school as well as seminars over the early years

Previous Public Service: 45 years at city hall. I started as executive secretary to the city manager in 1962, and retired in 1990. I have been the council's clerk from 1968 until Oct. 19, 2007.

Why did you decide to run: I love my community and since I have worked at city hall for so many years I feel my experience would be very beneficial on council. I also have worked with all but three city managers, so I had first-hand knowledge of a lot of projects that were accomplished.

What do you see as the top three concerns facing your constituents: I don't feel at this time I have any priorities; you have to work with the administration on the issues. I do know I will not vote one way or the other just because the majority of council does. Also, I will not have any personal agendas. I will try and do what is best for the city as a whole and you also have to listen to the people.
