Police are waiting for a statement from one of the people involved in a recent fight before forwarding a report to a prosecutor.

North Central EMS transported a 37-year-old Bellevue man to the Bellevue Hospital emergency room after an altercation early Sunday near the Subway Lounge. Bellevue police reported the "doctor was forced to sedate" him because he reportedly was being "disruptive, speaking loudly ... being uncooperative and using vulgar language" and had him transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC).

"They reported that he had broken facial bones around his eye socket and there was a chance of him losing his sight in that eye," police said in a report.

UTMC spokeswoman Aimee Falk said the patient was discharged from the hospital Monday.

Officers Joshua Pickens and Tyi McCarley responded to the scene about 2:35 a.m. Sunday after they heard yelling coming from the area of the Subway Lounge. Upon arrival, the officers said they saw two male suspects on the ground fighting, with two other people standing nearby, and had to pull a 46-year-old Bellevue man off the 37-year-old man.

Witnesses said "a tussle broke out" in the bar in which the younger man hit another man in the back of his head and also reportedly grabbed a 38-year-old Bellevue woman's arm, which caused some bruising. The witnesses said two men dragged the attacker out of the bar after he refused to leave and once outside, he reportedly charged and punched the 46-year-old man, who in turn knocked his attacker "to the ground and continued to punch him," police said.

One of the men claimed he acted in self-defense after he reportedly was hit in the back of the head when he was outside. Police also said one of the men involved in the outside altercation accused people of kicking him in the face and punching him.

Three people told officers they wanted to press charges against the 37-year-old Bellevue man who went to the hospital, but the older Bellevue man declined to do so, police said.

Chief Dennis Brandal said Wednesday officers are waiting for a statement from one of the people before forwarding the matter to Bellevue City Prosecutor Dave Claus for the consideration of filing charges.

What was that??

djwebb1127

And for talking, he was struck in the back of the head with an object, then beaten with an object in the face while he was down.

luvblues2

You were there? Please elaborate. Do tell.

djwebb1127

Paul was hit many times with a blunt object. In the front and back of the head.

heyuguys

If you were there, then why didn't you help your buddy??

cccdj.

Venue it don't matter what u say to stick up for that garbage.the whole town knows what a piece of trash that Joey and Dominic are u are just lying to yourself .we all know they are piece of sh i t drug addicts and that's all they will ever be lossers

luvblues2

Hearsay and innuendo.

djwebb1127

It is fact that Paul was struck by at least one blunt object on many parts of the head including his eyeball. You can pretend that's not true in the similar manner in which you pretend those punk kids are not pill head junky burglars who often sucker punch people.

heyuguys

Sounds like you were there. Please give details so we all know the TRUE story.

djwebb1127

Suppose there's something which exists called a doctor's expert opinion regarding the nature of the injuries sustained by Mr. Souza.

ems246

just wondering if your the dr. you seem to be all over these comments

known bellevuian

I was there that night. I seen it all. Let me just tell you, when it all unfolds those of you who are blaming the only injured person, will feel like idiots. But until then, let the legal system worry about witnesses and investigating. The witnesses dont need to get on the newspaper "national enquirer" and state anything to any of you.

luvblues2

I won't hold my breath. You seen (sic) it all? I'm betting it made your night like all the other bar brawls in this area have for the past few hundred years.

heyuguys

I agree 100%. Let the truth unwind itself and all these people be ashamed of themselves for talking badly about Carl. Poor guy is getting punished for something he or his business did not do.

ems246

you were there and the police told you its going to grand jury. you must have some poll in this town

djwebb1127

Should be interesting to hear what exactly Paul did to deserve being beaten with objects and kicked in the eyeball while on the ground, all while out for a beer, wearing his sandals. Were they beating and kicking him like that because he was caught breaking into a home? Oh wait, the ones doing the beating did that.

heyuguys

Paul did rob a home. And he was caught with pills. So he had to return the stolen items and turn over the name of his pill supplier and was cut a deal. It's true, I was told that's what happened.

djwebb1127

Well now that's an obvious, blatant lie. Imagine Paul, wore out from working 75 hours in a week, fresh off a new promotion...then he slips on a burglar mask, climbs a fence(haha) and quickly, quietly scurries through a window(HAHA) in search of meatloaf and chicken.

mojorising

You stay classy Bellevue.

djwebb1127

Bellevue is classiest at The Beer Dock and Subway lounge, where crooked pill junky burglars can roam free amid the fresh ambiance of cigarette infused air - as long as they have the same last name of the owner. I don't care much for junkies or cigarette smoke so I avoid those places anyway.

heyuguys

Every bar in Bellevue smell like cigarettes. Crooked pill junky burglars hang out at the Sports Hut and Nowhere Tavern also. They are everywhere, just ask Paul and his buddy's.

And there goes another one talking about the owner when he had nothing to do with it. Way to bash a business. Poor Carl.

djwebb1127

Those are the only bars that smell like cancer smoke. Also the only bars where the owner's grandchildren are drug addicted thieves.

ems246

all of the bars in bellevue smell like smoke and fried food. alot of people in bellevue are druggys and are working all over. they dont wear signs on there foreheads saying they are a druggy (even though they should)

djwebb1127

Many are druggies. Joey and Dominic are two of them. Two of the worst. I have never heard a good word about either. Nobody trusts them.

Too young for p...

Let's take a moment to delve into the facts and sheer ethics of the situation. Carl should not be blamed for the actions taken place by his grandson's. That being said, Paul and the Mira boys have not gotten a long in the past. I truly doubt Mr. Souza went to that bar that night looking for a fight in sandals. As there are a number of bars in town, maybe it was closer to his residence or simply a friend of his wanted him to meet him there. Speculations of his supposed intent to fight should consider no one looks for fights wearing sandals. Adding to that thought, I'm positive it was not in his mind that they would become uncivil at their own business establishment as I'm sure he intended on a nice night out. Whatever reasons the owner's saw fit to ask him to leave does not quantify a brutal beat down. Assuming any allegations regarding the woman with bruises are true, which appear to be in investigation of it's legitimacy itself, this would still not justify almost beating a man to death. Numerous statements have been placed as to the trouble the Mira boys get into, in and outside of the police station. I myself worked with one of the Mira's some time ago. I can attest to drug usage I've seen first hand, as this was some time ago I cannot comment to his possible usage in recent times. However, a drug test was performed on Mr. Souza upon arrival to the hospital and he passed with flying colors. Henceforth, allegations as to his supposed usage of illegal substance are rendered invalid. If you wish to push allegations against Mr. Souza, who has generally a good reputation around town, then please attempt to provide legitimate reasoning behind your statements.

ems246

this is getting into something bigger than it should be. a bunch of he said she said. where are the witnesses and the true facts. what people are not looking at is the issue at hand. they keep bringing up oh the mira boys are so bad and then posting jail photos of one of them. then you have another person posting about the case going to grand jury when this hasnt been brought in front of the judge yet! you have another person stating that paul is also a druggy and a thief. speaking horrible about businesses in town, airing dirty laundry and pointing the finger at each other. people acting like they know it all. what in the hell is wrong with you people. this has escalated into something ridiculous and you need to let the people in charge be the ones to judge. why did this happen is what needs to be figured out with the true facts. if the souza and the mira had bad beef then why were they in the same place at the same time? why didnt pauls friends help defend him while this fight was happening. why are you stereotyping ALL miras and not just the ones involved. this is the internet people. when you post something it is always going to be there no matter if you erase it or not. all this bickering back and forth and rumors being spread is just ruining our town. think of the subject at hand why did this happen? obvious NONE of them are perfect to let something so horrible happen. people do stupid stuff and say stupid things when they are drunk. i think that is the ONLY FACT that has been said so far on this thread!

djwebb1127

Paul did not do anything to deserve being beaten in the face with blunt objects to the point five bones in his face were broken. My guess is that only Miras are sticking up for Joey and Dominic, and that it's probably those two posting on here. Of course there is a large demographic of junkie, morally inept freaks who may be entertained by the exploits of the junkies, so who knows really.

luvblues2

^like^. And that is the same exact thing you will find in every one of my posts. The proof has not been discovered yet. It's pointless to argue it out here when the finality of it will fall on the court's decision.

cccdj.

The Mira kids both of them are piece of crap pillheads that's a fact.Dominic makes and delivery your pizza from beerdock.everytime u order there and tip him u are helping to support his drug habit.so keep buying the pizza and help poor dominic he needs more pills.hes gets the rest of his money from stealing or ripping people off .to all of those sticking up for these guys I hope its your house they steal from next or u or one of your family members they attack and beat up this bad.Bellevue has its share of problems and Joey and Dominic are just fine examples of what's wrong with this town these kids are out of control. Someday they will break into wrong house or jump wrong person and they will get dealt with.I for one will protect my house and family at all cost.

luvblues2

I hope you know how to swing a baseball bat or load a gun and point it in the right direction. You for sure suck in syntax and English.
