WILLARD - Do you know about the latest fads in illegal drug use? Would you know if your child was under the effects of these drugs?

Learn about these issues and others related to drug use in a free program hosted by the Mercy Hospital of Willard Trauma Outreach Program.

The presentation will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 8 in the commons at Willard High School.

Steven Theohares, R.N., trauma program manager, and Jodie Flynn, R.N., SANE coordinator, from MedCentral Health System, will lead the program. Objectives include an overview of the new drugs in our community, how to recognize when someone is using these drugs, and how patients are cared for when they come to the emergency department.

Teachers, concerned parents, educators, emergency medical service workers, and hospital staff are all invited to attend this unique program. Learn about "new-age" drugs, their effects, what they look like and the dangers they pose. You will also find out what "traditional" drugs are making a comeback.

Registration for this educational presentation is encouraged. Register by Nov. 2 by calling (419) 964-5350 or e-mailing Debbie.Pifher@mhsnr.org.
