READERS FORUM - People care more about cats than aborted babies

I can't stop thinking about the article on the front page of the Reflector of Sept. 19 concerning, among other things, feral cats. It seems that common sense is becoming more and more uncommon. It is unbelievable that we as a nation are more concerned about cats' lives than human life. There are some animal rights activists who do all sorts of crazy things fighting for animal "rights" and yet consider themselves pro-abortion. Unless you misunderstand, I consider myself a moderate animal lover, having had horses, dogs and cats as possessions for various reasons such as pleasure riding, showing and just having a cat around the house. They were always cared for since they could not do it for themselves, but we always kept things in perspective. They are animals.

Unless you misunderstand, I consider myself a moderate animal lover, having had horses, dogs and cats as possessions for various reasons such as pleasure riding, showing and just having a cat around the house. Think about this: Since the Roe Vs. Wade judgment in 1973 there have been close to 49 million abortions in the U.S., probably more. That figures to more than 3,000 a day. This deliberate killing is an abomination in itself but has far-reaching, unintended consequences as well. Just one for example: our dependency on Social Security. In the past 30-odd years we have killed off our young even before they have a chance to draw their first breath. Where are the dollars coming from to support this entitlement alone? So, looking at it from a merely selfish point of view, aside from the commandment, Thou Shalt Not Kill, aborting our young is not a very smart idea.

May God have mercy on our nation.

that's too deep...cats and aborted babies. wow.

What do you exp...

Abortion will always remain legal for the mere fact that most religions allow it for medical reasons. If its okay to have an abortion sometimes, that it has to be okay all the time. Start handing out more condoms and birth control pills and start adopting babies.
