'Hello, Dolly!' to take stage Oct. 14 in Bellevue

BELLEVUE - Members of the Red Hat Society are invited to an afternoon tea before the Bellevue Society for the Arts production of "Hello, Dolly!" on Oct. 14. The tea will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the lobby. The musical performance starring Red Hat Lady Cindy Franks as Dolly Levi, will follow at 2:30.

"Hello, Dolly!" tells the story of matchmaker Dolly Levi's efforts to marry off a variety of people, and her charitable ways. The musical contains perhaps the most famous song in American musical comedy: The title song, "Hello, Dolly!"

"Hello, Dolly!" played for 2,844 performances on Broadway at the St. James Theatre with Carol Channing in the title role. At the time it was the longest playing Broadway musical.
