The Huron County Sheriff's Office is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the recent murder of Daniel Jacinto Hernandez, 24, of 4012 Baseline Road, Apt. 3, rural Willard.

Hernandez was found stabbed to death Sunday in the Baseline Road apartment he shared with brothers Misael Lopez and Hiram Emmanuel Lopez.

The Lopez brothers are the persons of interests or suspects in the case.

Sheriff Dane Howard said it's possible the Lopez brothers may have fled the area in a 2004 Dodge Stratus.

Howard said motive has not been established in the case.

"We believe there are persons in the Willard area who have knowledge that can help with this case," Howard said Saturday. "But these people have not yet come forward."

Anyone with information can call the HCSO at (419) 663-2828.

Sitting In The ...

You really think someone going to turn in a murder with such a pathetic reward ?.

Do you have 1K laying around that you don't need and want to get rid of? Me neither. Extra $$$ is always welcome. No matter the amount. So for those of you doubting LE is working hard to solve this case because the victim was not legally in the country: HA!!

And 1K is a lot of money to a migrant worker. BTW

1K is a lot of money to ALOT of people!

I wonder (and I really don't know the answer to this), if someone comes forward do they tax the reward?

I guess in comparison to the easy money people receive from the government $1000 doesn't seem like that much.....but for those of us that actually work for a living it is a lot of money.

Why is it always necessary to have at least one jerk make a "welfare" comment? Some of you seem to think cash aid pays all this amazing amount of money- it doesn't. Example- 1 child=$273,2 children and a parent=$491. If a parent has received cash aid for a period of 36 months during a lifetime, they are ineligible. Oh and by the way, there are LESS people on cash aid now than ever before- it peaked at 5.1 million in 1994 and has decreased since. The MAJORITY receiving cash aid are child only families, not the adults and kids. In the state of OHIO, you can not receive both child support and cash aid. So,your welfare comment, as well as many others is based on what you've been told by politicians as opposed to what you should have educated yourself on before opening your mouth.

I didn't use the word welfare. I was thinking of unemployment. Thanks for all of the facts on welfare though.

Unemployment, metro housing, food stamps, Medicaid, it all adds up. The rest of us have to PAY for those things.

hit the road jack

happyfeet: You are only ineligible if you keep the same name, hell, they change their name 12 times and their in for a long time.

Change your name and SSN? Because they go by your SSN. Please, in this age of technology it's not as easy as it once was to purchase a new identity

some how I can not see the brothers staying in the same area where they are acused of murder , and if they are they must not be to brite

I agree 1245479.25 Spanish Peseta is how that rewards going to be paid out. Because I betting that's where there at I hope there checking the border.
