Eight people were arrested Saturday afternoon at a hotel in the Bowling Green area for solicitation during a vice operation to find prostitution.

Those arrested were: Dawn Wilder, 33; Brittney Johnson, 27; Jessica Crowell, 23; Charity Duncan, 22; Sheron Grace, 31; Virgil Cannon, 52, all of Toledo; Burgess Parker, 30, of Findlay; and Antonio Humphrey, 27, of Bowling Green.

All of the arrests were for solicitation-prostitution, a third-degree misdemeanor, except for the charge against Wilder, which was complicity to solicitation-prostitution, also a third-degree misdemeanor.

Wood County Sheriff's Det. Chris Klewer said he was declining to release information about which hotel the arrests were made at so authorities could conduct future vice operations there.

The Wood County Sheriff's Office was aided by the Bowling Green Police Department and Perrysburg Township Police. Those arrested were released pending court appearances in Bowling Green Municipal Court.

Detective Klewer said the vice operation went smoothly with no problems.

Why do we have to read crime stories from other places? Why can't the Reflector have more positive stories about the local area instead of relying on wire service sensationalism?

I don't see a problem with selling sex as long as no-one gets hurt.
