A pair of Norwalk residents were arrested Thursday after local law-enforcement officers executed a drug-related search warrant at a First Street residence.

Joseph Ringlein, 27, and Christina Heredia, 33, both of 7 First St., which is located in the Westwood Estates mobile home park, are facing charges after the 7:30 a.m. arrest, according to Huron County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Josh Querin.

"He (Ringlein) is facing a possession of criminal tools charge scales he had in the suspected weighing and sale of marijuana," Querin said. "We do expect additional charges after lab analysis."

Querin said Heredia was charged with permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony.

Also seized were marijuana, drug paraphernalia, prescription pills and $440 in cash.

Querin said he doesn't believe the residents had a prescription for the pills.

The investigator said there were no major issues in the arrest.

"They weren't compliant at first," he said.

Ringlein and Heredia were transferred to the county jail to await a bond hearing.

"They admitted to drug sales out of the residence," Querin said. "We will continue to step up drug investigations."

Sheriff Dane Howard, Chief Deputy Ted Patrick, Detectives Bill Duncan and Kayla Zander, along with Querin and members of the Huron County Drug Task Force all assisted at the scene. The task force includes members of each of the county's police departments.

I love you guys :) Stay positive.

Oh, I be the sheriff who lived RIGHT across from her trailer feels like a big dummy now :P

Voice_Of_Reason

I LOVE when other commentors (thisbleep and NotAHappyCamper) come out to this public forum to "support" people that are doing drugs. If you truly wanted to support these two drug dealers/users, then maybe reaching out to them before they got arrested would have been the action to take.

Voice_Of_Reason

In addition, why would "the sheriff who lived RIGHT across from her trailer feels like a big dummy now". Why would he/she feel like a big dummy? Maybe that sheriff is the one who organized/executed the search warrant.

I don't know about keeping their heads up, but definately keep a good grip on the soap!

I don't agree with selling drugs but I have known Tina for over 15 years and for those of you who don't know her and you think her frinds should have helped her she does not do drugs. So Tina does not need help. She may need help chosing her friends a little better but Tina is a very good person. So before you comment about her maybe you should know that the only thing she did wrong here was give a friend a place to stay. Unfortunately he is not the right kind of person to let live with her. Although I don't think selling drugs is right atleast he wasn't selling heroin or crack.

NotAHappyCamper

They are both good people, and I have known them both for quite a while, and Tina has a huge heart and would do anything to help a friend. She has gone out of her way to help me more than once when I needed help...even took food from her own cupboard to give me so that my kids had food until I could buy some. I was in a tough spot, and that meant the world to me. I also do not agree with the drug dealing, but at the same time I would much rather see them getting in trouble with something as little as a "marijuana scale" than opiates or a meth lab. Joey made a mistake, and hopefully he will learn from this and move on. There are much bigger things in this town to worry about than a little weed.

Both of you are kidding, right? As John Wayne said- "Life is tough, but it's tougher when your stupid." Wow....

Sitting In The ...

I researched how this compared to the severity of heroin and evidently if you either sell or possess 1-5 grams of heroin its a 5th degree felony.

NotAHappyCamper

I was not talking about the legal repercussions of marijuana compared to heroin, duh. Heroin is disgusting, and ruins lives. I would much rather my friends smoke pot than shoot nastiness into their veins.

Sitting In The ...

I wasn't referring to anything you said. I was comparing the two drugs and pointing out while Heroin clearly more dangerous they typically get a less severe sentence compared to that of person convicted of a Marijuana related crime.

Oh hehe :) sorry

I don't comment in here much, but this crap is getting annoying as all get out and I will be reporting it to the site admin, if it continues. Find something else to do.

WASP71

What exactly are you going to tell them? That we call the drug dealers stupid or idiots or that they are trash? Why does that insult YOU? Are these classy people friends of yours? Or is this bad for business for you? I'm just curious as to why it would be annoying you so much. If it really bothers you I would like to make a few suggestions: 1) Find new friends
2) Don't read any of them. It is for opinions only. EVERYONES opinion. Including yours. Now yours annoyed me, should I tell mommy or just let it go? I think I'll let it go because I think I'm old enough not to let things get to me too much. So do what you need to do and I'm sure we will all keep makeing comments that YOU won't like- because that's what we like to do! Have a Happy Go Lucky Day!!

Joey keep your head up. I know you make mistakes but we all do.

ladydye_5

I make mistakes all the time too....I put too much salt in dinner, I forget the laundry in the washer, I forget my purse at home.....however my mistakes have NEVER had me arrested. It is a choice of what you do and who you hang out with.

imlexie

"Good" people do not sell drugs of any kind people! Wake up... Drugs are drugs. Being illegal means just that!...it's illegal

arnmcrmn

Just more waste, sucking off the government. How do I know this, because any decent paying job requires either a urine test or blood test. So instead they sell illegal drugs...welcome to Huron County. Your slap on the wrist is next.

ruffing37

Actually he did have a job and didn't depend on the government

betrump

Generalize, stereotype, point fingers. That what he does best.

Honestly people, they are still breaking the law. The officers in this investigation are trying to do their job to protect.
The sheriff across the street is doing what he does as a father; protecting his family. There are kids over there and no father wants drug deals going down across the street where his kids play!!! It's called respect people!!! And as for Joey and Tina making a mistake...no a mistake is doing it once, more than once is a choice! If Joey has a real job, then why does he have to sell drugs? Nothing justifies doing drugs or selling them! And as for supporting them, how about supporting the officers that did their jobs!!!! I sure do, they did a fantastic job! Keep up the good work Huron County Sheriffs Department!!!!!
