HIGHWAY PATROL

An unknown driver drove off Laylin Road Sunday and hit the ditch.

Eric C. Whidden, 42, of 6405 Leroy Road, Wakeman, was charged with willful or wanton operation on a street or highway Sunday after driving a vehicle that sped up and then slowed down in front of Justin A. Williams, 18, of 52612 New London Eastern Road, causing Williams' vehicle to strike Whidden's. The crash occurred on Akron East Road.

Lisa M. Greaves, 25, of 13 1/2 Garden St., was operating a vehicle Monday that hydroplaned on Ridge Road and was swept downstream. She was not cited, but her and a passenger, Alyssa Makovic, 3, were taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center by North Central EMS. Greaves was treated and released.

Levi F. Fisher, 29, of Paradise, Pa., was charged with maximum width, height and length Monday on Ohio 4 after his vehicle went off the roadway and hit a ditch and two trees.

NORWALK POLICE

Mary Jo Hepp, 70, of 133 Leisure Lane, was charged with improper backing Monday on Williams Street after her vehicle bumped a parked vehicle owned by Toni M. Sargent, whose personal information wasn't available.

Justin A. Willard, 22, of Sandusky, was arrested Monday on several warrants and charged with failure to pay fines and costs on various charges. He also was charged with possession of a drug-abuse instrument and obstructing official business. Willard is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A possible burglary was reported at a Foster Street business Monday.

Everado T. Morales, 25, no address available, was arrested Monday on a contempt of court warrant and scheduled to appear at Norwalk Municipal Court on Monday.

A Milan Avenue resident reported criminal damaging Monday.

Van E. Goldbeck, 68, no address available, was arrested on a warrant Monday and charged with failure to appear on the original charge of no driver's license and speeding. He was held at the police station until his Norwalk Municipal Court hearing.

Kelly B. Maynard, 34, of 23 Grand Ave., was arrested Monday on a warrant and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. He is currently in custody at the Huron County Jail.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE

Assisted the Highway Patrol with the investigation of a hit-skip accident on Leroy Road, New London, Sunday.

An employee of a U.S. 250 business reported their parked vehicle had been entered sometime over the weekend.

Assisted the Wakeman Police Department with searching for two missing juveniles on U.S. 224, Plymouth, Monday.

An Old State Road resident reported finding a license plate Monday.

A U.S. 250 resident reported the possible violation of a civil protection order Monday.

Received a report of juveniles making prank phone calls from a U.S. 224, Greenwich, address Monday.

The Wakeman Police Department reported a missing juvenile from the village Monday.

A U.S. 250 resident filed a trespassing complaint Monday.

A New State Road, North Fairfield, resident reported small children playing in high water on the roadway Monday.

Assisted the Wakeman Police Department on Washington Street, Willard, address for an undisclosed reason Monday.

Assisted a man stuck in his vehicle, surrounded by high water on Chenango Road near Wakeman Monday. The man was able to exit his vehicle safely.

Received a report of a green vehicle in a field on Bismark Road, Bellevue, Monday. Deputies checked, but could not locate the vehicle. NORWALK FIRE

Responded to 189 Spino Ct. at 3:25 p.m. Monday where a gas pump had caused high carbon monoxide readings. The house was cleared, with the residents checked by North Central EMS staff. Returned to station at 4:21.

Checked a smoke detector at 480 U.S. 250 at 10:39 a.m. Monday. Returned to station at 11.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 93 Newton St. at 4:32 a.m. today. Returned to station at 4:52.

Performed a carbon monoxide investigation at 4 Richard Ave. at 12:12 a.m. today. None was detected. Returned to station at 12:57.
