CELERYVILLE - Nine departments battled a fire through this morning at Holthouse Farms near Celeryville on Ohio 103.

Tina Norton, deputy director at the Huron County Emergency Management Agency, said the fire call came in at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

"The fire was behind the main building where there were pallets and also smaller buildings," Norton said. "It was a large fire so there were several departments there for mutual aid."

Norton said EMA was called to the scene in case of any industrial run-off.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, state fire marshal's office and the American Red Cross all sent representatives to the scene.

The Huron County Sheriff's Office provided traffic control.

Though reports of a lightning strike being the fire's cause have been made, Norton said the cause has not been determined.

"It's still under investigation," she said.

Willard firefighters were still on-scene this morning and unavailable for comment.
