A Middletown man in and out of prison since 1995 is facing a judge and jury again this week on child sex charges.

James Michael English, 38, of Columbia Avenue, was indicted in October on three counts of gross sexual imposition involving three girls, ages 6, 8 and 12, according court documents and Middletown police. The charge is a third-degree felony with a sentence of up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The trial in Butler County Common Pleas Court Judge Craig Hedric’s courtroom began Monday with jury selection and is expected to continue through Wednesday.

In November, English was sentenced to nine years in prison by Hedric after he pleaded guilty to a rape charge for a crime that occurred in Middletown in September 2011.

English was convicted on gross sexual imposition and sexual battery charges for two cases in 1995 and 1996. He was sent to prison for 4½ years. In 2000 he went to prison for three years for gross sex imposition. In 2003 he had an escape charge and was sent back to prison for two years. He had another escape charge in 2006 and received an additional year behind bars. He failed to register his change of address or job status in 2008 and was sentenced to two more years in prison.

good call.

I think it's safe to say that he's going to continue down this path . Let's quit letting him out. Thats just my opinion and stuff...

He only thinks of himself.
Time to put him away to protect the rest of society.
He has proved he will not change so he should not get out again.
