We went once after the KN, with a groupon. We pass on all groupon for there now.

Joseph Balcerowski

After viewing the television segment about Mill Street Bistro and reading the comments posted here, I have come to a few conclusions of my own. I do not feel that many of those who have criticized Joe Nagy and his business or those that think he has given Norwalk a bad name or black eye are qualified or entitled to do so. How have I come to this conclusion you may ask. Just read your local newspaper, I believe it tells the story plainly and almost daily. It reports numerous accounts of citizens buying, using, and selling heroin. How can people of this caliber besmirch someone else or make pronouncements of this magnitude. Whether or not you like Joe or his food is not the matter at hand. I think Norwalk has adorned itself with a black eye.

Jonathan Christman

Who the hell in this forum has said that Joe Nagy has given Norwalk a black eye? And what qualifications do you need to be able to eat at a restaraunt and discuss your experiences. Also if you are basing everything you know on this subject on only viewing this episode, which is only the first part of the story, then you are making a lot of assumptions, not conclusions, and that is exactly what you are accusing others of doing.

Ralph Wiggum

Why would Joe Nagy start a fine dining restaurant in Norwalk if everyone was buying, selling or using heroin? Heroin addicts have $35 in their pocket for an elk steak dinner? His market research advisor really screwed him over.

because not everyone in Norwalk is doing drugs, selling drugs, getting DUI's, or getting there names listed in the paper. Some of us are hard working, honest people who grew up here. However, I do agree with you that some people have no right to make "pronouncements"

Come on Joe, been a problem longer than you realize, I hope your well! We met once a long time ago. Tell Mom I said hi!

Ive never been there but if some pompous jerk disrespected me when i chose to spend my hard earned money at his place i would walk right out of the door and invite him to follow to discuss the matter like old times

Cliff Cannon

@mojorising: Having never ate at the Bistro, nor met the owner, nor watched the show.I have no opinion here. Save for this one " invite him to follow to discuss the matter like old times" Wasn't it more fun then ? To bad,America "discovered " guns & lawyers.

P.S. Jim Morrison is alive ( at least at my house)

@ Contango: You amaze me ! What don't you know about ?

Lol absolutely

Wish Joseppi's has here. Miss Paradise Supper Club/Hartensein's (the Cattleman's Cut was killer). The Beehive. Styx/Suite Madam Blue. opps

this guy makes one miss friendly corners. at least back in those days when you got crap food it didn't cost an arm and a leg...

i think i'll be paying another visit to mill street soon. it's been over a year and really, judging by the amount of cars not in the lot it looks like a nice quiet place to have a drink... that is if the owner stays out of your face with his phony stories of things from his past that didn't happen and flat out lies about the restaurant.

my favorite story of his was how he's had Michelin chefs come to mill street and rank his food above Bobby Flay and Mario Batali. i ordered a Strip, medium rare, not a fictionalized life history.

A couple things happened by airing this show.
1. His food may get better, temporarily......until he is forcing ELK martini's down your throat again.
2. Local restaurants are salivating at the chance to pick up some new customers who may of thought about giving this place a try, but after watching this show wont go.
3. This place will be right back to its old tricks of the trade because the owner thinks he is running a Morton's steakhouse but serving McDonalds type food.

IMO, if the fare was ‘really’ that outstanding at MSB, patrons from all over the area would be beating a path to his door and the place would be SRO.

Obviously there are tens of thousands of area locals who are not "understanding the food."

As the Bible says: By their fruits, ye shall know them.

Heck, decades ago people used to come all the way from the Cleveland area to eat at Joseppi’s.

Must be those high gas prices keepin' 'em away.

Who on earth would watch Kitchen Nightmares? WAKE UP SHEEP.

Here's your chance to join the flock. :)

You must be interested. YOU replied.

@ S C Kat.....where do you get off telling people what TV show to watch?
Did I miss the news flash saying someone died and left you in charge?

I just asked a question. I never said you cant watch it.

I agree Joseppi's was outstanding but why come from Cleveland, some of the best Italian restaurants in the state are located in Little Italy, some of them dating back to the turn of the century with the same family ownership.
If you like great Italian food, Demmas is reopened in Sandusky on Monroe Street, carry out only, limited hours Tuesday-Saturday, same great food & sauce, using her aunt's family recipe. Little known fact at one time one sister owned the Cameo and the other sister owned Demmas just a few blocks apart on Monroe.

Note: "Cleveland area" would be inclusive of Lorain Co. etc.

Joe Borgia once also owned a restaurant in St. Augustine, FL. He had IMO, some of the most authentic Eyetalian I've ever eaten.

Thanks for the heads-up on Demmas.

Actually, my Ragu Siciliana was pretty d*mn good on Sun.

JOE the owner just put out a very bad rep for norwalk. good job..

Now The Rest of...

Best steaks years ago, The Beehive, in Olena.

Tip o' the Hat to Joe Centers for pointing this out in the Tues. issue of the NR:

"Kitchen Nightmares: 'Where can I spit this out?'
Recap and Commentary by RTVC taff Writer Rebecca Moatz"

As a fellow hillbilly from Norwalk I was absolutely embarassed this man is representing us on national TV. There is a reason I've never heard of his restaurant before this show and a reason I will never, ever go there and give this man any of my money. He is extremely rude and needs to learn to respect his employees. Why wasn't he wearing a hair net or gloves when working with food? He has no customer service skills. I cannot believe he was talking the way he was to his employees in front of paying customers and didn't apologize! I hope Gordon teaches him a thing or two!

Michael Saviador

21 Mill Street, Norwalk, Ohio...44857, make you're reservations or make your're reservations at Narcotics Annonymous where most of you belong other than the few "upstanding" pillars of this community. If you're so upstanding why are you online all day riding someone else's coat?> Get over it, Friday its over, then you can all go back to you're miserable selfabsorbed lives. Thank you however for making it such a big issue that it has recieved national recognition, because without all you qualified critics, the Bistro would probably just be another show on National TV.

Lillie Chaos

@ Michael you live in Huron County? Just because you can not bully the opinions here you take the posture of a pompous ass. There are many good people in Huron County. Kind hearted compassionate people who try to live decent lives make up the majority of the tax paying public. We are not "miserable or selfabsorbed (which even isn't a word, btw)". You sound like you have some issues that could use professional help.

Don't worry Joe, your restaurant will always be subpar until a real chef and business owner asked over

Who is better than to tell us about Narc Anon than you my friend!!
