Three people were arrested on drug-related charges Friday after a joint investigation by the Huron County Sheriff's Office and the Norwalk Police Department.

Arrested were Roger James, 24, and his girlfriend, Holly Daniel, 22, of 52 South Old State Road, Apt. A.

Vincent Poland was also arrested.

"We have been investigating them (James and Daniel) selling and using heroin for a couple of weeks now," said Detective Sgt. Josh Querin of the sheriff's office.

"We conducted a buy-bust operation today where four bindles of suspected heroin was purchased.

"The buy-bust took place in Norwalk and the seller, Roger James, was arrested after the transaction. A search warrant was prepared and was executed at the same time he was taken into custody.

"Both admitted they have a heroin problem. There was a small amount of heroin found at the house and numerous pieces of heroin paraphernalia.

"There was approximately $400 at the scene as well. A third subject by the name of Vincent Poland, who was recently released from prison, was arrested for possession of a drug abuse instrument."

Daniel was arrested for complicity to trafficking in heroin and possession or heroin. James was arrested for trafficking in heroin. They are all incarcerated. Roger and Holly will have a bond hearing, probably over the weekend, and Poland's bond was set at 10 percent of $5,000.

"We've been working on it about 10 days. It was a great investigation between the two agencies. They (James and Daniel) admitted they were making trips to Cleveland to make the purchases."

see if been saying this since it happened. ive been saying since day one what if he got into their "stash" i used to be friends with them. and all of a sudden they got busted. i think it was in the autopsy and they had to do more investigating on it before they wanted to see if they were doing drugs.. rip babyboy. you didnt deserve this.

i feel like crying!
enuff is enuff people!
we have got to get tougher!!!
i'm so sick of seeing this and the wreckage it brings.

I do not comment on here very often, but this is sad! I do not wish death on any child or for any parent to lose a child, but in some cases these days it makes me wonder if the poor babies aren't better off! So many families are involved with Children Services who find nothing wrong in the home, and then suddenly the child ends up seriously hurt or dead! Something needs to start happening or more and more innocent children are going to lose their lives!

Also it makes you wonder where the money went that they got from the benefit that they had for family!I just read the article about that as well, and I hope that they used it for what it was meant for and not drugs!

i dont think it was used for what they said it was going for.. one of their cousins in willard and her parents paid for everything to be done.. its sad. very sad. i just hope that they get the help that the need and khyryhn like i said rest in peace baby boy. you didnt deserve to go that young.

Speaking of benefits. Why is it everyone in the world has a benefit these days. Get a cold....have a benefit. When I was growing up, the only benefits people had was for a kid who got cancer and their family had crazy medical bills and expenses.

Nowadays, 94 year old granny is sick and someone in the family wants to have a benefit. Or a kid breaks his arm and the family wants to have a benefit. Or a kid gets bit by a dog and have 2 benefits.

And what kills me is several of these benefits that I choose not to go to....the people who were sick had medical insurance that was paying for everything. I had an uncle, who was a great man to me who had terminal cancer. His two sons and daughter had a benefit and took all the money and ran with it. He died shortly after the benefit and all of a sudden one kid goes on a 6 week traveling vacation and fighting within that side of the family started because nobody knew where the money went.

If there is a need, people will give and donate toward it. But these benefits have gone out of control these days.

Yall Make Me Sick

WOW! This is crazy & very sad! R.I.P to the baby but I feel the "parents" need some major help. This is what sucks about helping with a benefit you never really know what happens to the money & this shows this case is an example!

There never has been, nor will there ever be a drug addicted person who makes a good parent!!

Yall Make Me Sick

You would know cause you're God & you have all the answer's? Nice try though! Stop trying to judge others whe you haven't been in any of the parents life.

I've never seen a drug addict or a drunk make a good parent, I wouldn't want to be around druggies... And don't bring God into it.

I wonder if they're going to try to use their sons death as an excuse in court?!? For their drug problem.........

How is the baby's name pronounced? the spelling is confusing.

ki rin.. if that makes sense lol

I had an active addiction for 6 1/2 years with 17 years of sobriety under my belt and do not by any means consider myself to be a bad parent- I hope you meant a person with an active addiction. And again would like to point out NOONE is hopeless. What you and alot of you from this area should have done years ago is to have paid attention to what was happening in your communities. None of these kids started doing this stuff overnight and not all of them come from broken families. The police were aware of the problem and how quickly it was getting out of hand back in 2001 when I first moved here. Ya'll are just lucky that good ol' Meth hasn't gotten a stranglehold here yet. You think you have problems now....

@ Happy one with an "active" addiction should be permitted to even attempt parenting. The police are aware and the community is aware and taxes are paid and counseling given.....HOWEVER that does not over-ride the fact that the community is at risk from the dangers that an addict provides for our community. There is no excuse.....nothing can justify the harm to any child that an addict inflicts. Don't tell me what I should have done. Tell the addict they will be shunned by the community because they are a danger to everyone. Having been an addict you should be aware that you had to take responsibility for your actions and behavior. This girl came from a solid rural family who probably tried to move heaven and earth to get her clean. So quit blaming Huron County. Be glad you are here and not somewhere even more plagued.

Meth has been around this area (region) more than you think. Hell, soemone used to cook it up in a parking lot not too far from me. And I don't live in Norwalk
