A drug dealer who had been to prison for his conviction has been released into a locked-down treatment facility.

Former Norwalk resident Stoney R. Lester, 53, has been accepted into a community-based corrections facility (CBCF). Defendants spend four to six months in a CBCF, a form of prison which focuses on substance abuse and education.

"I want to thank you for the opportunity," Lester told Huron County Common Pleas Judge Jim Conway during Monday's hearing.

The defendant was on the risk reduction program, meaning he could be released after serving 80 percent of his sentence and once he completed the substance abuse program in prison.

A child was present during the Sept. 22, 2010 incident when Lester sold 40 grams of Opana to a confidential informant at his home, authorities said. The age of the child and Lester's relationship to the child are unknown.

After a lengthy investigation by the Norwalk Police Department, the special response team arrested Lester without incident. Officers used a search warrant to seize evidence related to the sale of prescription medication, specifically Opana and Percocet.

"The defendant has an extensive criminal record going back many years, covering three states," Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Richard Woodruff earlier told the judge.

In mid-March, Lester pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking in oxymorphone in exchange for the state dismissing a similar charge. Two months later, Conway sentenced him to 18 months in prison.

Lester will be on three years of post-release control. He must reimburse Norwalk police $40 for the cost of drug testing.

40 grams has got to be around 25,000$ worth

@ Otis B. Driftwood : Me and the bank own 8 Ford. Why is that " interesting " ? Further, may I ask; " What would you chuckle about ? "

Then,I must sadly say,Mr. Lester isn't even the worst customer,I've ever choosen to do business with. ( then add, it's been a while since he called 8 Ford " home" ) Further, I also have the personal cell numbers of N.P.D.'s chief as well detective's in my phone book. Then ask: Do you want to geuss,if we ever talk ?

In conclusion, Mr. “ Deep-thinking “ anonymous slander ( a.k.a. “ Otis B. Driftwood “ ) who “ chuckles “ at spreading idle gossip of which he knows absolutely nothing of.

Why don’t you use your er, ah, “ great wisdom “ to tell us all how to “guarantee” that any business – let alone one as “ unique “ as the rental home business, will have only perfect customers. Then, we all can have a good “chuckle “ at your lack of reality.
