A 13-year-old Wakeman boy who went missing Wednesday is home, safe and doing well, Wakeman Police Department officer Sean Ventrice said Friday.

Ventrice said the boy returned early Thursday morning. He had left his home about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Wakeman police officer Tim Nelson said Wednesday his mother found a note under his bed on Wednesday night. It read: "I'm sorry for everything I've done. Please forgive me. Love, David."

The note and boy's disappearance led to a community alert.
