Ivan D. Adkins, 48, of 39 Baker St., was charged with failure to control and driving without a license Thursday after he went off the right side of River Road and hit a mailbox and utility box.

Dolores A. Campbell, 69, of Salem, was charged with failure to control Friday after she failed to negotiate an Ohio 162 curve, went off the left side and hit a ditch.

Diane M. Kraus, 48, of Grove City, was charged with failure to control Friday after she went off the right side of Ohio 103 and hit a sign. Willard EMS transported her to Mercy Hospital of Willard with minor injuries. No further information was available.

Jeffrey S. Ousley, 43, of 4441 Egypt Road, Willard, was charged with failure to control and driving under the influence Friday after he went off the left side of Egypt Road and hit a utility pole and tree.

Cheri A. Spitzer, 35, of Medina, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Saturday after she hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Katherine A. Perkins, 45, of 489 Greenwich Milan Townline Road, North Fairfield, on Butler Road. Spitzer attempted to pass Perkins while heading south when an oncoming car was approaching. She tried to avoid a head-on collision and hit the left rear of Perkins' car.

Heyla N. Sanchez, 27, of 528 Quail Creek, Willard, was charged with failure to control Saturday after she went off the right and then left sides of County Road 12 and hit several small trees.

Kimberly S. Cross, 32, of Mansfield, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance and driving under the influence Sunday after she went off the east side of U.S. 250 at the intersection with Townline Road 151 and Old State Road and hit a tree.

NORWALK FIRE

Responded to 53 Executive Drive to assist North Central EMS with a patient at 7:20 a.m. Friday, but firefighters' assistance was not needed. Returned to station at 7:22.

Responded to a person pinched, but not trapped, in a machine at 9:25 a.m. Friday at 200 Bluegrass Drive. Returned to station at 9:35.

Found no carbon monoxide levels during an investigation at 12:14 p.m. Saturday at 33 E. Elm St. Firefighters advised the owner to replace the alarm. Returned to station at 12:25.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 7:10 p.m. Saturday at 26 Spring St. Returned to station at 7:21.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient in a one-vehicle accident at 1:10 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Old State Road, U.S. 250 and Townline Road 151. Returned to station at 2.

Told the owner of 68 Gibbs Road to make sure a small campfire was out after he was done at 2:02 p.m. Sunday. Returned to station at 2:06.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 8:56 p.m. Sunday at 41 E. Washington St. Returned to station at 9:18.

Told an employee of 171 Milan Ave. to have the fire alarm system reset after firefighters responded to a false alarm at 2:22 a.m. Monday. Returned to station at 2:41.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 4:31 p.m. Monday at 29 White Tail Way. Returned to station at 4:50.

Didn't find the source of an open burning complaint at 11:53 p.m. Monday at 72 Jefferson St. Returned to station at 11:15.

NORWALK POLICE

James E. Roberts Jr., 31, of 18 1/2 State St., was arrested on three warrants Friday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs and an open container violation. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Two area motorists reported someone scratched their vehicles Friday while parked on Newton Street.

A Milan Avenue resident reported his silver Mongoose bicycle was missing from the Norwalk Middle School bike rack Friday.

Heath L. Moltz, 31, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Benedict Avenue business incident Friday and released to his sister.

A Chatham Street resident reported her red 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck was missing from her driveway Friday. The complainant said the truck can't be locked and doesn't need a key to start it.

Angela M. Hundley, 36, of Columbus, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, public intoxication, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in connection with being a passenger during a traffic stop Saturday. She was released from the Huron County Jail after posting bond that day.

Shirley L. Cooley, 48, of Sandusky, was arrested on a local warrant Saturday at the Erie County Jail and charged with failure to pay fines and costs on the original charge of criminal damaging. She currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Police shot a cat that had a broken leg and couldn't walk after being hit by a vehicle Saturday on South Linwood Avenue.

Jane Cook, 47, of 48 N. Pleasant St., was charged with misuse of the 9-1-1 system Saturday after dispatchers received multiple 9-1-1 calls, three of which were hang-ups.

Kevin R. Craft, 50, of 129 1/2 Benedict Ave., was arrested on a warrant Saturday on the original charge of disorderly conduct. He was released from the Huron County Jail after posting bond that day.

Patrick E. Caffey, 49, of Sandusky, was arrested on a warrant Saturday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs on the original charge of driving with a suspended license. He is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Jason P. Jackson, 21, of 23 Grand Ave., was arrested on a warrant Saturday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. He originally was charged with underage consumption and failure to report to jail May 20. Jackson is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Margaret A. Smith, 43, of 107 N. Hester St., was arrested on a warrant Saturday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs and failure to report to jail May 22. The original charge was failure to file city income tax. She is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Kevin L. Fahrney, 26, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Parsons Street disturbance Saturday and released to a sober person.

An employee of a Whittlesey Avenue business reported someone smashed the glass window covering the screen of a gas pump Sunday.

A Corwin Street resident accused someone of searching her medicine cabinet and stealing $55 in cash during a suspected burglary Sunday.

A Milan Avenue resident reported a male suspect grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her into the woods by the mail boxes Sunday while she was purchasing a drink from the vending machine. Jesus A. Mendez, 23, whose address was unavailable, was charged in connection with the incident.

Leonel D. Lopez, 19, of 23 Newton St., was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license, underage consumption and an open container violation in connection with a Jefferson Street traffic stop Sunday. His blood alcohol content level tested at .17. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A North Garden Street resident reported having a dispute with a neighbor Sunday.

Charged two juvenile suspects in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue shoplifting incident Sunday and released them to their parents. Police forwarded a report to the Huron County Prosecutor's office and Huron County Juvenile Court.

An employee of a Whittlesey Avenue business reported two underage suspects attempted to purchase alcohol and left the scene Sunday. Police forwarded a report to the Norwalk Law Director's office for the consideration of charges.

A Jefferson Street resident reported his daughter's purple and pink Huffy bicycle was stolen from his front porch Sunday.

Michelle J. Ganzhorn, 23, and Alain S. Hubbard, 20, whose addresses were unavailable, were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Bank Street domestic disturbance Sunday.

A Norwood Avenue resident reported the theft of a gas-powered pressure washer, two nailers and a fishing tackle box during a break-in at his locked garage Sunday. The incident remains under investigation.

Anthony J. Gillenwater, 20, of Hilliard, was arrested on three local contempt of court warrants Monday at the Franklin County Jail. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.
