Huron County Sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic violence call at 3505 Ninevah Road in Greenwich Township at 7:46 p.m. Friday.
Shannon Johnson, 40, allegedly was threatening to shoot his wife and himself with a handgun. Prior to deputies' arrival, Amy Smith had escaped the house and was in a field near the home, deputies said.
When deputies arrived, Johnson had put down the gun and surrendered without any resistance, deputies said.
Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Huron County Jail, where he is being held on charges of domestic violence and inducing panic. He will be arraigned Monday in Norwalk Municipal Court.
