HIGHWAY PATROL

Tia M. England, 16, of Marblehead, was charged with failure to yield the right of way Saturday in the collision with James H. Brophy, 74, of Michigan.

Tina Marie Rhine, 42, of 863 Peru Olena Road, Norwalk, struck a deer Tuesday on Peru Olena Road.

Nicholas R. Mott, 18, of Ashland, was charged with operating a vehicle without reasonable control Wednesday after he went off the right side of Ohio 60, returned to the road and went off the left side of the road. Mott's car overturned and came to a final rest on its wheels in the southbound lane. Mott was taken by North Central EMS to Fisher-Titus Medical Center.

Marcus A. Mead, 21, 95 Third St., New London, was charged with operating a vehicle without reasonable control Thursday after he drove off the right side of the road, struck a mailbox and a private property sign. He then struck a culvert, a large rock and metal fence before overturning and coming to rest. He was transported by EMS to Fisher-Titus Medical Center. No further information was available at press time.

Carman L. Utter, 28, of 61 N. Forest St., was operating a vehicle that struck a deer Thursday on Ohio 61.

Scott Polachek, 26, of 12 South St., Greenwich, was driving eastbound on Baseline Road when he drove off the right side of the road after he said an unknown driver forced him off the road.

NORWALK FIRE

Responded to the report of an anti-freeze spill at 9:48 a.m. Thursday at 77 State St., and cleaned up the spill. Returned to station at 10:03 a.m.

Responded at 10:28 a.m. to a report of a home at 16 W. Elm St. Installed a working smoke detector. Returned to station at 10:33.

NORWALK POLICE

An unknown motorist Thursday struck the parked vehicle of Michael A. Mirtes, of 111 Newton St., Norwalk at 92 Prospect Street, and then fled the scene.

Amber Schnellinger, 24, address unknown, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for failing to report to jail and pay fines and costs from an original charge of theft. Schnellinger was taken to the Huron County Jail, where she must sit for 10 days.

Philip R. Bertram, 22, address unknown, was arrested Thursday on four warrants for contempt of court for failure to pay fines and costs. He was taken to the Huron County Jail where he could not post a $1,004 bond.

John Collins, age and address unknown, was charged with disorderly conduct Friday in connection with an incident at 31 Jefferson St.

Nevada J. Rocker, 22, address unknown, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for contempt on the original charge of disorderly conduct. Rocker was taken to the Huron County Jail, where he awaits bond or court.

Michael Shepherd, 18, address unknown, was cited Thursday for criminal mischief and released in connection with a vandalism incident on Milan Avenue.

A St. Mary's Street, Norwalk woman reported Thursday someone broke several windows at her home.

Authorities killed a sick groundhog Thursday at a Milan Avenue business.

Responded to the report of a lost cell phone Thursday at an unknown Norwalk location.

A Firelands Manor, Wakeman, resident reported the theft of a bike and the attempted theft of a toy from her residence.

Assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol Thursday with the service of an arrest warrant at Huron County Job and Family Services.

Responded to an alarm activation Thursday at a Bull Head Road, Willard business.

Responded to a report of mud on the roadway Thursday on the Fitchville River in Wakeman.

Responded to a false alarm Thursday at 1547 Townline Road 131, North Fairfield.

Responded to a report of a possible fight Thursday at 1040 E. Ohio 61.

Responded to the report Thursday of a domestic dispute at an Old State Road residence.

Responded to the report of a semi truck that rolled over in front of 3445 U.S. 20 by Derussey Road.
