Didn't you ever learn in school that it's ok to insert a period now and then ?

FlowerMom

lol And how about Caps only on the first word in a sentence after where the period goes. The uneducated usually want a hand out.

Uputwhatwhere7

He did. They are all at the end for some reason!

Richard Russell

The former mayor should realize that she can use proper capitalization and punctuation. And she doesn't have to yell, just because some Republican would dare challenge her Dear Leader for his position as Emporer. lol!

Guy on a Buffalo

How lame! The Reflector starts requiring people fill out their account information, with name and address included, and then the employees start calling people out, making them no longer anonymous, even though they claim the information is private. Come on Russell, we all know you'd vote for a Republican sex offender before a Democrat, but calling someone out online is low, even for you.

Richard Russell

I have absolutely no idea who tweetybyrd2011 might really be (and from their comment, I don't think I would care). I do not now or nor have I ever had access to anyone's account information -- whether they are last year's aves or a bovine rider --  nor would I want to have that information. At least I use my real name and do not hide behind a frequently-changed screen moniker.

The first comment posted by tweety-la-tweet just sounded to me like something a sycophant former mayor might have said.

And for the record, although my ballots are private, I have voted for Democrats in the past and I just might do so in November. But, obviously, I'll have to check the sex offender records first.

JMOP

Obama tried to pick on the 1%, hoping to have 99% of American voters on his side. I am the 53%. When he runs out of the 1% monies, who will he come after next?
I am not rich, I pay taxes. A fair tax is a flat tax. If you get a welfare check or food stamps and let's say you get $500 take out 35% of it. That will leave you with $325. How would you like it. Let alone you didn't earn it, no matter what you and the rest of your flock believe.

FlowerMom

Romney is not Obama. I would vote for anyone but Obama. ANYONE. Obama is dismantling the United States. He believes in income distribution which is what Marxists believe. I guess if you want a hand out, and want to sit on your butt, then you might like Marxism.

Fromthe419

I am part of the 53%, maybe this link will help you http://jobs.thejobnetwork.com/np...

Tweety...If you are SO worried about loosing all your government handouts(<~~AKA..TAXPAYER DOLLARS FUNDED HANDOUTS) Then why don't you take advantage of government grants that are availible to you for education, and go to school and get a degree so you can get a better job? In turn supporting YOURSELF, opposed to people who actually PAY government taxes every year! And don't tell me you pay taxes, either. They MIGHT take them out of your check, but you get ALL of it back and THEN some, therefore not paying a dime, and taking from those of us who DO pay in every year. You know why I pay taxes? Because I pushed myself and worked hard towards bettering my financial stability for my family, which is being destroyed by your precious OBAMA!Don't come on here crying about we the poor, waa cry cry. You are the reason your poor!

arnmcrmn

Hes trying to take from the poor? He's trying to take your house? Wow, thats new. Do you have proof of this rambling? Might want to lay off the TV ads a bit tweety.....they are all misleading and you have been suckered in.

FlowerMom

That is what Obama and the unions are telling the people that don't know better. And they are telling their base that Romeny wants to end Medicare. More people are afraid that Romeny will take away their Medicare. That is only scare tactics to keep the Obama voters voting for him. If Obama would run on his record, no one would vote for him. So he lies and scares those that depend on the government.

marshall96

"If he would run on his record"? How about saving the auto industry? If that collapsed, the domino effect could have caused thousands of Americans to lose their jobs. I believe in a flat tax, even for the 1%.

Contango

@ marshall96:

Pres. Obama didn't "save" the auto industry. It's a temporary taxpayer financed Ponzi scheme that'll eventually fail.

They're using sub-prime loans to sell their cars and they're "channel stuffing" cars to the dealers.

Have you seen the price of GM stock????

Besides, Chrysler is now an Italian co. - some "save."

Good thing that typewriter cos. weren't around, maybe Pres. Obama coulda "saved" them too.

It was a bone to union voter buddies. Better see the salaried employees who got 'thrown under the bus' with his "save."

Reva

I'll be darn..........On welfare and has internet access. Guess you can thank all of us who work for your extras. I worked two jobs for YEARS just support my kids with no internet, cigarettes or cell phone. Obama is taking away rights and the free enterprise system. Why would anyone want to work if you have to give it to someone who refuses, can't or won't work? Disgusted with the system!

arnmcrmn

^@Reva....What else do people expect from Obama. He was raised in a family where his mother and father hated capitalism and America. He was raised to believe that America was in the way and holding many 3rd world countries down and the only way for these 3rd world countries to rise up and to flourish is to get America, as we know it, out of the way. How would someone get something so powerful as America out of the way......by devaluing the dollar and bankrupting the country. Well, he has a good start at it. 16 Trillion (Obama has tripled it in 4 years, with the expectation of 20+ if he is elected again) in debt and our dollar is about as strong as Walmart toilet paper.

blessusall

You honestly believe this comment you posted, arnmcrmn?? Heaven help us!

Contango

@ blessusall:

If you not seeing that the value of the country's currency is being systematically destroyed you're not paying attention and/or reading the right stuff.

A re-elected Pres. Obama will just oversee a quicker bankrupting of the U.S. than will an elected Mr. Romney.

-rebel

@ blessusall - what's really scary is that you and so many others don't believe a bit of what arnmcrmn said.

arnmcrmn

@blessus, you need to read about his father......or better yet watch 2016 the movie. Not all the information is correct but its pretty spot on.

Mr. Obama is a symptom he is 'not' the disease.

"We are the ones that we have waited for,”

During WWI the Germans put VI Lenin on a train to Russia in order to ferment revolution, take her out of the conflict and allow Germany to concentrate her forces on the West. It worked.

The Progressives found a "tabula rasa" in Mr. Obama, sent him on a path to Washington in order to ferment another leg of the socialist revolution in order to reduce the U.S.' geo-political and economic strength and thus continue the work of removing her from the league of great nations.

Little more than 50 yrs. ago, Mr. Obama would have been the Socialist Party candidate and would have received little public notice. Sadly how times have changed.

Cliff Cannon

@ Contango : You are quite simply ( to me) Da' man. We have written to one another often, on the impact of W.W. 1 on the world as we know it. Sadly, most have no clue of that "forgotten war " in regards, to it's impact on current events.

Then your words here, including " tabula rasa" (which probably few understand)in regards to Mr.Obama are so darn spot on that, I am going to vote for you for President this year. ( I am always a write-in voter for President)

Must ask though,do you really think it would be 50 years ago, that this socaialist/muslim president that we now have, who won't even put his hand on his heart for the national anthem would've "recieved little public notice" ?

Personally,it seems to me that the "dumbing down" of America is even more recent, geuss,I am spliting hairs here.No matter. Your post here is one of the best I've ever read,in regards to the reality of todays American President. Again,"you da' man". Thanks for using your talents in an eFFort to educate us. Here's hoping it works

Contango

@ CC: Agree somewhat with the "50 yrs."

Maybe the U.S. should have just elected Eugene Debs or Norman Thomas as POTUS back in the 10s or 20s and been 'done with it.'

During the 1932 election, Thomas garnered almost 1 million votes and FDR took notice. Thereafter, his politics swung to the left - and here we are on a firmer path to socialism.

(Read the Socialist Party Platform of 1932 if you need some confirmation of my assertion.)

Few today are familiar with our country's past socialist leaders, but an increasing majority would hardly disagree with their sentiments.

I fear that if Mr. Obama is re-elected that we may have finally reached the 'point of no return.' Or, as the ancient maps used to say: Here lie monsters.

Kinda ironic that our Founders sought to innoculate their new nation against the "European Disease" and 200 plus yrs. later their heirs are willingly and gradually accepting it.

Weren't Roosevelt's new policies the only thing that could have brought America out of the Great Depression? Just because government can't do everything, doesn't mean it should do nothing.

Richard Russell

The history we were taught was that Franklin Delano Roosevelt brought us out of the Great Depressession. The economic truth, and there are even some liberal economists that will admit to this, is that Roosevelt's government spending policies only prolonged the depression by six to eight years. Government cannot end a depression or a recession, it can only prolong it. That is what is going on now -- we have a recession that would have been over by now in the normal economic cylcle but has been prolonged by massive government spending (Stimulus I under Bush and Stimulus II under Obama, but both passed by Democrat Congresses) which only funneled money to their business friends. Coupled with massive government regulations and new taxes, especially Obamacare, we're doomed to many more years of this mess we're in.

Contango

@ marshall96:

Actually, Hitler's and Mussolini’s socialist and militaristic policies were much more effective at bringing economic stability to Germany and Italy than were FDR's.

Most economists credit WWII for bringing the U.S. out of the Great Depression.

War anyone?

If centralized planning 'actually' worked, the U.S.S.R would have been a great economic miracle instead a tragic 70 yr. mistake.

Sadly, our current direction is not dissimilar.

Good think I have rubber boots, the b.s. is deep here.

What really disgusts me beside the system and the politics are our 2 incumbent commissioners who have nearly bakrupted the county and fought our sheriff at every step. They have had 4 years to work to replace an aging fleet, and thrown obstacles everywhere they could. Now all of a sudden, 1 month before the election, they have a PLAN to solve the problem. Their plan involves 1 month of action and another 4 years of funding their own personal agendas, and bankrupting the county. While crime and the drug problems continue to rise in our county, we can always count on our commissioners to buy $500 picnic tables or use $520,000 of vestibule bond money to try to ensure their own re-election. Don't be fooled by 1 month of cooperation. If Silcox and Bauer are re-elected, it will be business as usual, the bond money payback by the county residents will end up over $750,000, and along the way, our county will eventually have to declare bankrupty. We need to get rid of these two frauds and elect some honest people for a change.

As far as welfare?? What did people do before WELFARE? Ever think of that? Recipient class feels there were just people dying in the streets, before big gov. handouts.. But as fate has it, I needed to go out and make a little cash so I can keep the lites on?? Ever occur to some of you, YES people do pay there own electric in this country?
