Catawba Island Boat Show & Golf Fest set for May 4-5

CATAWBA ISLAND — The first Catawba Island Boat Show & Golf Fest will swing in to the Catawba Island Club on May 4and continue May 5.

The event is free and open to the public with dealer-qualified customers test-driving boats on the water and TaylorMade Golf interactive challenges on the newly updated Catawba Island Club course.

The club will host a selection of in-water boats primarily from North Coast Ohio marine dealers.The CIC marina will be easily navigated for those who seek the opportunity to climb aboard and take an up close look at the intimate selection of in-water sail and power boats. Also, land displays will feature a collection of marine accessories.

Marine brands sure to be included at the show include Carver, Tiara, Meridian, Sea Ray, Hunter, and Rampage.

While the marina is buzzing with activity, the CIC golf course will also be in full swing. Several interactive golf games, including a long drive accuracy shot for men and women, a long putt competition, and a chipping skills game, will test skills and luck at the TaylorMade Golf Skills Challenge.

Many prizes and contests will be available including the $1 Million Hole-in-One Shoot Out. It costs $1 per shot for a chance to win.

The three closest-to-the-hole qualifiers from each day will be selected to receive one shot at the $1 million grand prize and a full set of TaylorMade irons. The nine finalists will tee up at 3 p.m. May 6.

All proceeds from the golfing events to benefit the Lake Erie Marine Trades Association (LEMTA) Scholarship Fund.

The show hours are: Noon to 6 p.m. May 4; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 5 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6.
