LORAIN Brookside edged Western Reserve 7-6 Thursday in reserve baseball action.
D.J. Hall pitched the first five innings on the mound and took the loss. Hall struck out eight and walked four.
The Riders, 1-1, had seven hits, led by Kyle Robson with three singles and Hall with a double and a single. Scottie Haynes chipped in with a double.
The Riders, 1-1, were scheduled to host Edison Friday.
