Majority of council in favor of Sofios Park project
Aug 10, 2014 at 7:04 PM
The majority of Norwalk city council members appear to be supportive of legislation regarding the funding of a Sofios Park project.
Council members recently had their first look at a resolution that would authorize the city to accept about $32,000 in state-grant funding for a shelter house and drinking fountain at Sofios Park.
The city's share of the project is $13,650.
Safety-service director Bob Patusky told council Tuesday a shelter is needed to protect children from possible thunderstorms. Patusky said the drinking fountain is also key because there are anywhere from five to seven soccer fields in action at one time, but the players have no current access to a drinking fountain.
